Comments

One of the most original birds in southern african countries. They are ground dwelling birds, flying to trees only to escape predators, and to roost or breed. They feed on the ground, eating termites, hares, and snakes among other preys. In contrast to other hornbills, they do not seal their nests. The call of ground hornbills is a low-pitched booming sound, resembling that of a lion, which can carry over long distances.
